YSA adopts the approach that sports is a fun and exciting means of networking and interaction. This programme organises a range of sporting activities to enable young Singaporeans forge links and strengthen ties. At the same time, it aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among the participants.
The annual football tournament enables young Singaporeans of all races to forge links and build camaraderie in good sporting spirits. While promoting active competition, the event also has the serious message of bringing people from different backgrounds, ethnicity and nationality together with the view of further strengthening the social fabric of Singapore.
Beyond competitive activities, YSA also organises social sporting activities to encourage Singaporeans to lead a healthy lifestyle. Activities such walks and rock climbing bring Sikhs and non-Sikhs from all walks of life for a day of fun and enjoyment. At the same time, they provide the various groups the means to build ties and networks with one another.
