Leadership and Generational Change: The Case of the Sikh Community in Singapore
Being a Singaporean Sikh, I think this is an excellent opportunity for the Sikh community here to engage in some serious self-introspection. For a very long time, positions within the management and executive committees within various Sikh institutions have been occupied by men (with some, though highly limited, women representation) who tended to be at least in their fifties and older. The paradigm here was that wisdom and the ability to lead effectively came with age and experience.
