Mr Sarabjeet Singh is currently a contract teacher in a secondary school. Subjects he teaches include Geography, Literature and English. Apart from being able to teach subjects he is interested and has a passion for, the stint has, thus far, enabled him to interact with youths through various other platforms and in different capacities. This aspect of his role as a teacher; the responsibility and ability to develop, mould and nurture youth, provides him tremendous gratification, and continues to inspire and motivate him to continue pursuing teaching as a career.

Sarabjeet first joined YSA as a volunteer for Khwaish VI after completing his national service and before enrolling in university. He found the experience to be a real eye opener, exposing him to the different conditions of rural Punjab and the particular challenges and hardships experienced. This left such a lasting impression on him that he decided to join Khwaish XI once again as a volunteer upon completion of his degree. To him, the Khwaish trips have been a wonderful and ideal way to begin and complete his university degree. He realises the unique and fortunate position he is in, to be able to compare and learn from both his Khwaish experiences. More importantly, YSA and the Khwaish trips have stressed upon him the need to continue to remain involved, engaged and participate in community service, both locally and abroad.

Sarabjeet graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2011 with First Class Honours. He majored in Geography and minored in South Asian Studies at the university's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. As a recipient of various university level and national academic awards, and for demonstrating outstanding overall achievement, he was selected to represent his graduating cohort as valedictorian. In his valedictory speech, Sarabjeet stressed the importance of a quality education as it empowers individuals to be in the service of others. In this way, Sarabjeet also hopes and looks forward to pursuing further education in the future, in order to be of better service to others.
