LEARNING TO SEE – THE SIKH HERITAGE TRAIL
The Bukit Brown Chinese Cemetery will probably not have much meaning to most Sikhs. I do not blame them. Often times, we have been warned of staying away from cultures, rituals and practices that are foreign to us and most notably involve some sort of supernatural element. Unfortunately, over time, we start tuning out, become numb and uninterested with the communities associated with these rituals. However, in Bukit Brown, through the help of the Bukit Brown volunteers such as Claire Leow and Peter Pak, I rediscovered over 30 pairs of Indian and Sikh statues.
